When we look at atoms under a microscope, they appear to be vortices of energy. If we look even closer, we find that all particles are fluctuations of a quantum vacuum—the closest thing we have to pure nothingness. And yet here we are. Bam! Right in the middle of this intensely bright, loud, colorful world.
We each have our own way of interfacing with this uncontrollable brilliance. For myself, opposites and extremes are where I am drawn. I find beauty at the juncture between the chaotic and the ordered. Between contraction and dilation, crystallization and dissolution, folding and unfolding.
My style of painting is not a conscious choice, but instead emerges from funneling my life energy directly into the paintbrush and onto the canvas. My work feels natural, spontaneous, sensual, musical, and playful.
